Overnight Sleeper Train from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, Thailand

On June 2015, I went to Chiang Mai, Thailand to attend the Thai Fruit Festival. From Bangkok to Chiang Mai, I opted to take the overnight sleeper train instead of the plane. It’s a bit cheaper and I thought I’d like the experience - which I did. I had a really good night sleep and I remember feeling so legitimately happy while staring from the window during the ride, looking at the view.

I didn’t thought I’d ever start a YouTube channel until the festival. I used to watch only Freelee & Durianrider and I wasn’t even familiar with other vegan vloggers at all! Good thing I took a few clips during my train ride. I wish I took a whole lot of other videos though because this is the only video I can share of my TFF2015 experience. It's a quick 2-minute video, hope you'll like it! :)

My vegan lunch for the week | Good Food Vegetarian

I enjoy preparing my own meal but living in a boarding house with only a rice cooker as a kitchen appliance, it's quite a challenge to cook meals other than sushi, pasta and steamed potatoes. When I'm feeling lazy and kind of want to eat out of the usual, I have my vegan lunch delivered from Good Food Vegetarian.

Yep, vegan lunch deliveries exist in Manila! An order costs 90 pesos each, plus 15 pesos for red rice upgrade. They have a minimum order of two for free delivery to my office in Technohub, Commonwealth. Although I have a friend who ordered with me for the entire week, I still ordered two for me for my dinner as well.

Here’s what I had for the week.. The meals mostly use veggie meat made of wheat, soy and mushroom -all vegan, all good!

Barbecue and Giniling
Monday
I have tried quite a number of vegan BBQs and this is on my top favorites. The giniling tasted like the original version -which is usually made of ground pork.

Tuesday
I looooved the seaweed roll! The corned beef + potatoes also reminds me of my childhood. It used to be one of my favorite meals growing up.

Wednesday
Sisig is originally made of chopped up pig's head, with some varieties using chicken or fish I think. This is made of mushrooms, tofu and veggie meat. Beats any sisig EVER! (with maybe a bit of bias haha) But seriously, this tasted amazing and made all the other non-vegan versions I've tried forgettable. My personal favorite for the week!

Thursday
Beanuguan is the vegan version of dinuguan -typically made of internal organs of pigs  cooked in pig's blood. Not gonna lie, I used to like it as a meat eater. This vegan version is made of tofu and black beans! My friend said it tasted like dinuguan though I can't agree completely. It's like a dish of its own not a dinuguan imitation and it was really good.

Friday
Vegan lechon kawali?! Aw yeah, #whatYouEatICanEatVegan. I must admit I was looking forward to this the whole week. Though it wasn't quite what I expected, it wasn't so bad either.

If you would like to start your vegan journey, minimize your meat intake or are just curious about these meals, GO give it a try!

You can check out their weekly menu from their Facebook page: Good Food Vegetarian

You might also want to check out other vegan food deliveries: Juicesabel and Greenery Kitchen(I wish they deliver to my area!!)

Happy vegan eating!
